The post-dipping is the most important activity in the control of contagious mastitis. This operation aims to kill the bacteria transferred along the nipple with the sheaths from one animal to the other during the milking process. It also guarantees a high protection of the apex of the nipple that physiologically remains open for a variable time after the milking. Both by immersion (Dip-cup) and sprayed (Spray System), sanitizers post-dipping should be applied as soon as possible after the detachment of the group, when in fact the nipple canal is still open.

In general during the procedure it is essential to sanitize all of the nipple surface and not only from the end and avoid contact between an animal and the other. The spray is therefore advantageous in the first place for the reduction of "environmental mastitis" and from the point of view of maximizing the operational time of work since with the appropriate spray machines the procedure is very fast and of simple application. Also by the spray system you can avoid direct contact with the skin of the teats reducing the risk of contamination of pathogenic between an animal and the other. It 'also appropriate during the year alternate the active principle sanitizing at least 2 times in order to avoid bacterial resistance.
